“Our son, CJ, has autism and longs for independence and we THOUGHT we had that all figured out for him when he started using Lyft just to bring him home from his job at Cub in Lakeville (we live in Elko). Well on 3 occasions CJ would order his ride, they’d confirm - then cancel. The last time this happened CJ ordered, 3 different drivers confirmed then canceled. In frustration CJ called me and said he was walking home. I begged him to wait and I’d be there in my usual drive time from Elko to Lakeville. To my
horror when I exited off the interstate onto 185th there was my son ready to hop on the shoulder and walk the interstate home. Terrifying for me. CJ was just mad. At Lyft. I don’t know if you’ve ever tried to contact Lyft but you can’t directly call, text or email anyone without waiting for forever. We had pre-purchased $100 Gift Cards for CJ to use but honestly don’t even care. NOTHING is more important than CJs safety and my peace of mind. So I was back to being his Taxi again, and I don’t mind at all, but CJ does.

Then I saw a post on Facebook - Kurtesy Ride - caught my eye. Clever name and after reading more was touched that they give toward those who have lost someone to suicide. I asked CJ if he was willing to give another Driver a chance and he said “Yes!” My fear now is that Kurt is SO awesome he’ll grow so BIG someday and won’t personally be able to drive CJ. BUT I’d love that for Kurt and hope all his dreams and goals for his Business come true.

You’ll never meet a more pleasant and accommodating driver ever! He’s beyond organized, professional, TRUSTWORTHY, Reliable (our biggest Blessing) & Safe! I always get a confirmation of pickup time and a text saying “he has arrived safe & sound” when he is at work!! Kurtesy Ride has given CJ the gift of independence, as best he can without his own drivers license!
